Every Zellige tile we ship is shaped with a chisel, glazed with mineral oxides and fired in a wood kiln. No two are identical — that is precisely the point.
We do not manufacture tile. We quarry, knead, fire and chisel it — one piece at a time, exactly as Fez has done since the fourteenth century.
Zellige is the only surface in the world that refuses to repeat itself. Each tile carries the fingerprint of the maâlem who cut it, the breath of a wood kiln, and a glaze that pools differently in every firing.
That irregularity is not a defect to be corrected. It is the reason a Zellige wall moves with the light from morning to dusk, and why no printed or pressed imitation has ever come close.
Bejmat herringbone, chiselled écaille, geometric fields and hand-set mosaic — every pattern cut and glazed in our own atelier.
Made to order and quoted per project. Sample boxes leave Fez within 72 hours of request.
Nine tiles in the current catalogue. Bespoke glazes matched to a Pantone, fabric or stone in eight to ten weeks.

Dug from the same quarries used for six centuries, kneaded by foot and rested four days before a hand ever shapes it.
Formed in olive-wood moulds, dried on the roof, then fired at 900°C in a kiln fed with olive pits.
Dipped by hand and fired a second time. Cobalt, copper and iron pool unevenly — that is the signature.
The maâlem cuts each tile with a menqach, working blind against the glaze, to a bevelled edge no machine can imitate.
Wood-fired in Fez from local grey clay. Nothing pressed, printed or industrially glazed — ever.
